The Kingdom History

Zeila was a great trading city on the Gulf of Aden, in the Horn of Africa, and the heart of the Adal Sultanate. It was a busy centre of faith, learning, and trade, where desert caravans met ocean ships and goods and ideas crossed the Red Sea to Arabia and beyond. The traveller Ibn Battuta visited Zeila in 1330 and wrote about its lively market.

What House ZEILA Stands For

Zeila is the house of seekers. Its scholars and traders crossed seas in search of knowledge, faith, and new horizons. House Zeila is for students who set out to discover, who read widely, travel in their minds, and look beyond what is in front of them.
